Open Question: Cold Liq/ice can maintain for some time inside the land(ground) why is it so?

Underneath the ground the sun can’t reach items (no radiation). Air is not circulating underground (no convection). The only heat source available is conduction, or heat passed through solid material. This reduced amount of heat source, keeps the heat low.
